IT'S AN ITALIAN FAMILY
TRADITION
The legacy begins....
In 1930 'Patsy' & Louise
Strollo opened a grocery store on Youngtown's East Side.
Years later, Pat & Louise would run a restaurant in
Lakeland, Florida.
STROLLO'S GLASS DINER was
established in 1948 by Lorenzo Strollo (Patsy's Father).
The roots of our family's love affair with food began to take
shape.
Pat & Louise influence was
especially strong on their two daughters Fran & Patty.
In 1968 their first daughter Frances, with her husband Leo
Delgarbino, opened a small pizza shop called - PARKMAN ROAD
DAIRY. This became an institution on the Warren's West
Side and was here that Mother & Daughter collaborated to
create Leo's ORIGINAL WHITE PIZZA, an old family recipe turned
new.
The torch passed once again to
Fran & Leo's son Leo Jr. (a Culinary Institute of America
graduate). In 1982, the family decided to broaden their
horizons and opened a small restaurant - LEO'S RISTORANTE"
in the Market Place in Warren. Here, Chef Leo combines new
techniques of food preparation & presentation with the old
family traditions of regional Italian cooking. His
creations were the talk of the town & due to overwhelming
growth of on & off premise catering, Fran's brother
architect Larry Strollo, designed the NEW building - LEO'S
RISTORANTE AND BANQUET CENTER at this current location!
Just as in the past, the
tradition of great food lives on. Leo Jr.'s siblings
Debi,
Marc, Frank & Leo's wife Lisa continue the family
legacy. Leo & Fran's nephew, Chef Michael Strollo,
also a graduate of the CIA, has been an invaluable asset.
The Chefs of today blend in the tried & true ways of
yesterday to create the succulent cuisine of tomorrow.
Walking through our doors, one
feels the warmth and smells the fragrant aromas of Chef Leo's
kitchen. Tasting the magnificent dishes passed down
through the generations is truly a culinary delight.
From OUR family to yours, Buon
Appettito!!
